I'm a lawyer since 2003, but I have been working since 1999 as an English/Portuguese teacher, and as a translator, especially of legal documents.
In 1999, I spent 2 months in the USA, living in Alexandria County, State of Virginia, to improve my English.
In 2004 I went back to the USA, this time as an Au Pair program participant. At the same time, I took an "Introduction to International Business" course, at Oakton Community College, in Des Plaines County, State of Illinois. This course helped me to widen my Business English vocabulary. In 2005, back to Alexandria county, I took another English course, to improve my conversation skills and to prepare myself to take the new iBT TOEFL exam, which I took in November of the same year, scoring 106 points (out of 120 points).
Back to Brazil in November, 2005, I started working at a law firm in São Paulo, as a translator of legal documents, and at the same time, as an English teacher. In 2006, I took a Legal English course at Universidade Ibero-Americana (Unibero), in São Paulo.
In 2008, I went to work at a big translation company in São Paulo, and I'm currently employed by one of the biggest law firms in São Paulo, as a translator.
During the period since 1999 until today I have been working as a freelance translator for several translation companies throughout Brazil, specially in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. I also have my own translation company. I'm currently taking an specialization course in English and Translation at Universidade Paulista (Unip), in São Paulo.
